Good video apart from one MAJOR thing which was different on my '07. UK O/S/R (i.e. drivers side) was an LH thread wind-back tool, winding Anticlockwise to push the piston back. This is the ONLY one of the three that is different, the rest are standard RH thread ones going clockwise. Big obstacle imo took a while to figure out.
We cannot show all the nuances and problems during replacement, it is all individual and it is not always possible to solve them at home. To avoid this, we always recommend making replacements at car services.
@autodock, hi, I have a comment. Please advise people to press the footbrake pedal a few times before driving the car after pushing back the calliper piston because there will be free play between the piston and the new pads which needs to be reset so as to not cause an accident when first driving off after fitting new pads. @@autodocuk Do the handbrake wire still connected stop the piston from being pressed in. I am asking because the piston is stuck impossible to move and I did not disconnect the wire.
If the cable is pressing, it affects the piston. If the cable is not pulled, it will not affect the piston. The piston is probably stuck for other reasons.
Hi! In general, the replacement will be similar, the only thing may be slightly different in the design features of your car. You can find more detailed information in the technical documentation for the repair of your car.
Thank you for the comment! The caliper piston should be pressed clockwise regardless of the side. Stay tuned and follow our latest updates. Best regards, Autodoc.
@@deanbowen069 my winding tool indeed only worked for one side today😢. unfortunately I only have one clockwise tooling. how.did you managed the otherside? Thanks
Thank you for the comment! Since the pads are new, the handbrake cables should be slightly tightened. Stay tuned and follow our latest updates. Best regards, Autodoc.

Hi. I just changed my car's rear braking pads and when I press the brakes and release them it's squeak. Very loud. Do you have any idea what's the problem? I would be very grateful.
Doesn't say which direction piston should be screwed in. Is driver's side clockwise, passenger side anti-clockwise? That's what I've seen on other videos.
If we had access to that, why would we be here? Your changing the pads on a specific car, so why not give any pertinent information relating to the job featured in the video? Pistons have to be wound in, not simply forced in using a G.clamp; does it matter which way, as claimed by some street mechanics, or not?@@autodocuk
my experience today is telling me you need left hand & right hand brake caliper reset tool for Toyota auris hybrid 2015. Don't trust universal tooling easily.
Certainly the best video

Excellent video, extremely helpful.
Very helpful but need to see how to redo rear break on 2021 Toyato CHR
Unfortunately, we do not have the requested video on Toyota.

Do you need to disconnect the handbrake wire, or is it done only for easy access with tools.
This is done for correct and convenient replacement.

Hi. Why do the piston slots have to be aligned with the notches on the back of the brake pad? I have toyota auris. Thanks.
hi, its to prevent the pistons from turning, remember if they turn they can get to tight or loose,
do be careful when working on brakes.
Breliant. Very helpfull. Keep up good work plz.,

Love this show very helpful
When winding the calliper in the LHS do you turn it anticlockwise or is it clockwise for both sides?
Thank you for the comment!
The caliper piston should be pressed clockwise regardless of the side.

I have just replaced my rear pads. The LHS is clockwise and the RHS is anti clockwise.

Great video thank you
Does the handbrake cable need any adjustment after this replacement or it's not necessary?
Thank you for the comment!
Since the pads are new, the handbrake cables should be slightly tightened.

Did you apply anti-squeel paste?
I've got new brake pads and disc done on my 07 Toyota auris but it has failed a test on brake imbalance. Why is this
Perhaps these parts are of poor quality and cannot withstand overload.

It is not possible to answer your question unambiguously, you can find out this information in the technical documentation for repairing your car.

Not so easy to remove the caliper.
Video angles not good enough, forget about mechanic appearance and focus more at job at hand please!
